Messi Happy With Supercopa

Having it all to do tonight after a 3-1 first-leg loss against Sevilla, a five-star Barcelona side returned to blistering form with a 4-0 thumping of the Rojiblancos at the Nou Camp in the second-leg.

Living up to his elevated reputation, Lionel Messi was the stand-out figure in Saturday night's match, the Argentine bagging his seventh hat-trick in a Blaugrana strip to add to a deflected Pedro shot early in the match.

Speaking to the press after the match, the tricky winger was humble despite his impressive haul.

“We continue to grow as a team," said the 22-year-old. "We enjoy our football and our aim is to continue the season as we started."

Barcelona must now look to their opening day Liga fixture against Racing Santander on the August 29. The Catalan side will hope to start strong in the Spanish top-flight with Jose Mourinho's newly bolstered Real Madrid side snapping at their heels for the domestic title.
